Vol. 2: design-management.de

I’m actually heading for the Design Management Europe Award (DME Award) later this afternoon. Funnily enough I haven’t heard about this event until recently ;-) After all it has taken a visit to my colleague’s blog “Brand Driven Innovation” edited by Erik Roscam Abbing from Rotterdam who posted about an earlier event in Eindhoven which seemed to be part of a larger initiative funded by the European Union.

Even though I do not claim to be THE hub for information on events about design management I am however quite surprised about the flow of information about this competition in general. It somehow went from 0 to well at least a bit … so up to now I still perceive it as fuzzy who in particular has set the agenda and which kind of networks and people are involved. At least for now and based on my experiences over the last couple of years there do seem to be different “silos” with different key players keeping/controlling the gates.

Anyway I’ll try to free my mind from these political issues and I hope that I will meet some nice and interesting people there (beside getting some nice food for sure ;-). for sure I’ll drop you a note here in this blog next week on my impressions. Stay tuned!
