Via the folks of EURIB (a commercially run institute at the intersection of brand, reputation & design in Rotterdam/NL) I’ve just been pointed to a new book about Design Management written by Kathryn Best, Course Leader in Design Management at the University College for the Creative Arts in Farnham/UK.
In concert with other recent examples I’m still surprised by the somehow fragmented information landscape of the design management community and accordingly how long it sometimes takes until information makes its way through all the stage gates … ;-)

Hi Ralf,
A google search on “MBA Design Management / Creative Industries” brought me to your blog. You have an inspiring site here buddy!
I need some advice from you, ralf. If you can please provide. This is my scene:-
I am a 27 year old Online Designer/Editor working in the largest post production house in Malaysia. I have a Bachelors Degree in Digital Designing from RMIT Australia.
After 6 years of slogging away in this industry (2 years as a freelancer and 4 years in the above said production house), I feel I have hit the higher limit of my profession.
From this point forward all I see is a boring, slow crawl up the ladder.I feel quite tired and drained and wish to take about 1 year off from working.
However, I am thinking of using this 1 year to acquire a MBA degree in either ‘Design Management’ or ‘Managing Creative Industries’.
Though a lot of information is available in the net about such courses, one doesn’t quite understand “what is what” until someone more knowledgeable share their prespectives with the searcher.
Ralf, if you can please point me in the right direction in this regard. Tell me - which universities, colleges would you approach if you were in my shoes.
Your guidance will be much appreciated.
Thank you.
