I haven’t completed reasoning about the impact of Nokia’s shift. However even though I appreciate to read about the rising importance of Design in terms of structure & systems I still have the impression that it still acts as an emergency police if previo

Nokia was ahead of (Sony) Ericsson in the late 90’s but today I think Sony Ericsson are miles ahead. It is nice to hear that Nokia will concentrate on design again.

On a side note (more or less). I was at the Nokia World Conference last week in Amsterdam and one of the keynote speakers was Geoffrey Moore, well-known author of “Crossing the Chasm”.
His keynote on Innovation and innovation management was by far the best thing I have seen in years. Check out the webcast here. Unfortunately the visibility of the slides is poor, but soon all presentations will be available on the conference website

Hi David, Hi Boyd,
thanks for your comments and the link!
Interestingly I agree with David’s observation regarding Sony and Nokia. Being a convinced owner of a SonyEricsson myself I think Nokia is really catching up these days. I think my next mobile will be a Nokia also due to it’s (regained) combination of usability & simplicity. I’m not sure where this walkmen retro reference will lead to?
Boyd, what about meeting for a dinner in Rotterdam at StroomHotel next Friday? There we might catch up with your recent endeavours? I think that also some other folks like Erik Roscam Abbink from cohort 3 will come and join us! Just drop me an email if you’d like to!
