In his fresh and narrative style my friend Mike Wagner over at “Own Your Brand” blog posted a very nice story in order to explain his ‘blog break’ for a couple of weeks. But now he’s back and I thought it might be a good idea to send a “still alive” message out to my crowd as well. After all thanks to Mike for sharing another sort of ‘fable’ with us readers here in Europe!

Tomorrow I will leave for Switzerland in order to conduct a workshop at the “Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst Zentralschweiz in Luzern” titled “Innovativ durch Design and Design Management”. Together with Initiator Claudia Acklin and Hans-Kaspar Hugentobler I’m sure we will an interesting afternoon on Friday, September 22nd, 14:00 – 17:30 hrs. Next week I will conduct my Design Management lecture series (which I’m running now for almost 3 years) at the Design Department at the Fachhochschule Münster in a new one week condensed workshop format. The basic idea of this seminar is to provide graduate design students with the according skills in order to see their discipline in a wider context and embedded in an economic eco-system.
Then at the end of next week a one day conference about “experience design” is scheduled in Genk, Belgium. Design News Aggregator and Blog-Fellow Mark Vanderbeeken has been so kind to introduce me to the organizers. They think that I might add some value by reporting about recent efforts at Zollverein and Zollverein School for whom I’m acting as their Blog Editor for the last couple of months. In this context it’s useful to know that both places Genk as well as the Ruhrgebiet where Zollverein is located are both victims of the fall of industrialization and globalisation as well as beneficiaries of the restructuring process into creative hot spots funded by the European Union.
Later on in early October I will head for my annual Rotterdam (lecturing) weekend for EURIB. On October, 5th I will hold my first workshop on Corporate Blogging (information in Dutch only ;-( and on October, 6th I’m doing another strategy class for the Master of Design Management (MDM) together with Frans Joziasse.
