I know, I know, my posting frequency isn’t at my “normal” level these days and it’s a mixture between workload due to other projects and some critical reflection on the direction and purpose of Vol. 2 which prevents me from posting more often these days …
After all there is indeed a lot to write about and while trying to get back to normal I’d like to point you to another Core77/BusinessWeek event this time to be held in San Francisco on June 6, 2006. Allan Chochinov one of the founders of Core77 kindly asked me to promote this event to you the readers of Vol. 2 and just in case you’re in the Bay Area at that time you should definitively attend it (needless to say that I’d like to attend as well, but Blogging alone does not enable you to get you there ;-).
This time the topic of the one day event is: “Products and their Ecosystems: Understanding the power of context in product innovation”’and I’d like to quote from the conference website what the event is about:
“Products exist in a vast, often-messy environment of services, brands, cultures and competitors. But successful companies are realizing that deliberately and strategically designing products for the context in which they live can result in more imaginative, better integrated, and ultimately more humane offerings. From MP3 players and gaming consoles to kitchen appliances and office furniture, this panel discussion will focus on how to incorporate holistic thinking into product development, creating objects that are not only sensitive to their surroundings, but often define them.”
As I’ve reported on Zollverein School Blog (which I’m currently editing as well) in the meantime Core77 set up a dedicated space for podcasts and photos of their first event (held in New York in February ‘06) and I trust we will soon read and hear about this second event as well.
