I think Ralf must have the best friends! Good to see your comments Herr Schmid. I am just hoping to meet a true Diva some day. There is an extreme shortage of them in Iowa - some say it is too cold for Divas here, and others say they may be born here but refuse to stay (a point I fully understand). Since the borders of Iowa create a box - I suppose we are back to designing outside the Iowa/box.

The Lattes sound good - lads, is there a secret ingredient?

Now there, dear Ralf

I do thank you for all the flowers!
Should I ever return to Zug, the Lattes
will be yours at your covenience again.

So let’s make sure them crocodiles
are tame and inside the box!

Otherwise the world has grown smaller
by the hours lately, and the door is
aways open, where ever the man with
the big words ends up!

Cheers mite, as »we« Aussies tend to say!

Fabian,

I wouldn't have expected a different comment from your side ;-) Thanks for your prespective to which I'd like to respond:

a) I really admire you for your creative work and your capability to think beyond typo and colour. Congrats to the recent Red Dot award!

b) Having spent some great days with you in Zug with some great home made lattes no Diva would ever be capable to make them in a similar fashion.

Take care of the crocodiles ;-)

Dear Ralf and Mike

Sex sells... Advertising plus the three of us prove that this is correct.

Since I am down under, but not the sheets, right now, I allow myself to tease you with a »creative correction«. As much as I can read out of the title »design at the intersection of creativity&sex« I don’t see the instant conclusion that creativity must necesserily be linked to plural sexual partners. I heard rumours that even sex with your own partner can stirr creativity. Ok, after some years into the relationship, some of the creativity needs to be redirected to re-designing sexual behaviours hence to keep the spice alive: »the art of social intercourse« so to speak!

But, point taken, creative people do have the tendency to bend the rules and explore more. It’s called »thinking outside the box« and this does not make us Divas... oops, did I just give something away? How ever, we can work it out together!

A big smile from OZland!

Hi Mike,

couldn't agree more! ... every medal has got its two sides and as it is the case with "artists" and their weired stories about not being able to adapt what is considered "commons rules" very often I experience "Designers" by the same token.

There are many designers out there whom I admire for their creative work, but I'm not sure if living/working with them is as much fun ... Did I hear someone say "Diva"?

Ralf, sex is a good way "to get away from all the buzz about Innovation and Design" while CREATING some new buzz. Grin.

The news headline is what has me reflecting; Creativity linked to sexual success. The assumed definition of success is more partners. What if the research and headline had addressed a slightly different aspect of the same subject? What if the resulting headline was "Creativity linked to relational failure"?

Since many are talking about creative projects of all kinds requiring collaborative skills among many people and disciplines, the creatives ability to make and sustain relationships over time might be worth a study.

But don't get me wrong, I don't want to take the fun out of being creative; my mind races. Thanks for the stimulating post!
