Innovation, Design & Blogs

It’s amazing how many great blogs are edited these days and I’ve reported earlier that it seems almost impossible to trace them all. Fortunately free web-based tools like Bloglines monitor and collect RSS-Feeds for you and alert you (optionally) each time a new blog posting has been written in the blogosphere.

If you track some 40+ blogs (like I currently do) via Bloglines you will notice that a specific “community of interest” sometimes blogs concurrent news (another good aggregator is to be found here). On the other hand it’s interesting to see the different angles from which each blogger is addressing a certain topic and for me this is what makes blogging that special. In the end it’s this special tone or style which converts you into a regular reader of a specific blog (e.g. beside CPH127.com I regularly visit noisebetweenstations.com as well as bplusd.org and chittah-chattah).

Consequently my special thanks go to the tremendous number of 25.000+ visitors who visit Vol.2: design-management.de each month. Just assuming that 40% of these visitors are “real” human readers is such a great number which makes me regard each posting as a great challenge and tribute to your precious attention!

While I’ve written about the Peter Drucker’s death (as many others did ;-) Bruce Nussbaum’s latest posting directed me to the FORTUNE Innovation Forum blog which has been set up only a few weeks ago. It’s amazing to see how much relevant information the editor of this blog Dominic Basulto has assembled within a few weeks. As quoted from their “about” section:

“This weblog is a companion to this year’s FORTUNE Innovation Forum to be held November 30-December 1 in New York City. Inspired by the exciting lineup of speakers and discussion topics for this event, this weblog will showcase interesting interviews, case studies and commentary on the theme of “business innovation”. Each week we will showcase various factors impacting innovation – competition, customer experience, intellectual property, and design.”

While Innovation is closely linked to Design these days (Bruce Nussbaum’s blog and the BW section on Innovation & Design is no exception here) it’s no surprise that my blog friend Niti Bhan is featured (once more) in a posting on Businessinnovation2005.com (Congratulations Niti!)

And congratulations to Businessinnovation2005.com for their great blog!
