I’m very pleased that I’ve been invited by HfG (Hochschule für Gestaltung) in Offenbach, Germany recently for giving a lecture about the chances and opportunities of the design management profession.
together with the network for entrepreneurs called “routea66″ (named after the autobahn connecting the three dominating cities in the Rhein-Main area: Offenbach, Frankfurt and Wiesbaden) the HfG is offering a series of open lectures and discussions to students and the interested public.
my lecture will be embedded in other workshops and lectures dealing with the role and definition of creative professions like: artists, film-makers, sales promoters, graphic, media & product designers and managers as well. the key question to be addressed is: “what does it take to develop and maintain an autonomous professional position in a specific industry context.”
well, I’ll try my best to give the audience an overview of the breakdown of the design management profession these days. based on my present and past involvement in all major international post-graduate design management programmes (london, westminster, rotterdam and solothurn -> see the “links | education – design management” section at the lower right link-area of this weblog) I will refer to experiences gained at these institutions and put them in a business context.
if you can make it I’m happy to meet you at the: Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach am Main, Schlossstr. 31, Raum 101, on January, 27th 2005, 19:00-21:00 hrs.
