“design management insider” david griffiths/UK just returned from a scholary visit to india. “downunder” david lectured for recently founded design management programmes and it seems that a variety of design management courses pop-up everywhere in the world these days.
however today david reported about a new 13-months enduring “Master of Business Design” at the Domus Academy, Milan. this master belongs to the category of full-time programmes with a focus to northern italian residents. this is also emphasized by the fact that the majority of the curriculum will be in italian language. in any case INHOLLAND module co-ordinator Marco Bevolo (module: ‘Corporate Identity and Image’) will also be engaged in the area of ‘new media & post-advertising’.
at first glance the programmes and courses cover a remarkable variety regarding their naming and descriptions ranging from master of business design, design planning, business creativity to master of design management. however far more important is the focus group and accordingly the structuring of the course.
it is interesting to see that there are far more full-time programmes on the market than real distance learning courses with regular on-site workshop meetings. for a long time the recently stopped ‘MBA Design Management’ at Westminster University, UK has been the only one. these days the latter category is only addressed by the INHOLLAND Graduate School, Rotterdam and the CODEM programme, Switzerland (at least in europe).
in any case visit the website (pop-up site!) of Domus Academy, Milan and look for the ‘MDB Competition and Programme’ to obtain further information and brochure downloads >>>
