according to christensen the likelihood of being attacked by disruptive innovation is very high for companies that are well managed, pay attention to their customers and invest in new, but current technology. it’s their focus on present features and qualities which gives room for competitors to come up with unexpected, niche customer focused and very often inferior performance products. however this new focus is often the start for a highly competitive future product. [just think of handheld PDAs in comparison to classical PCs]
